Theatre, as an artform, can never reach it's fullest potential unless it is first created in an environment of respect and collaboration. The Director's mission when starting any project is to provide the production team and cast with a clear goal of what story they are going to be telling and why. Then proceeding to do everything in their power to help their team achieve that vision. Never acting as a dictatorial force but as a conduit to help their team hone their craft. Creating an environment that is encouraging and safe. Pushing artists to grow not by stress but by the reassurance and support of a team. It is so VITAL to this artform that everyone in the room has a voice - that everyone is able to create and dream with full vulnerability and without fear. When that happens - true magic is created on stage.
